Tours & Excursions

During the course of the congress there will be tours and excursions offered, these have been scheduled to fit around the congress programme. There is an additional cost to attend these, bookings can be made through the congress registration pages.

Sunday 25th August

City of Sport Tour
Manchester is home to the FA Headquarters, two premier football teams, cycling legends come and enjoy the streets and stories wandered by George Best with a tour of Manchester United included.

Timings – 12pm – 4pm

Manchester Food Walk

Manchester Food Walks combines culture, history and cuisine. Take a walk learning city history, and eat a starter, a main and a dessert in three different eating places. Food and guiding included, but drinks will be extra.

Monday 26th August

Art Tour
This tour underlines the fact the streets of a city provide a free art gallery if you have eyes to see. The tour also takes in some interiors of Manchester and the art that adorns their walls. Be prepared to be surprised, delighted and amused.

Medical Manchester
A look at the city’s medical history including Charles White (and Hannah Beswick), Robert Jones, father of orthopaedics, Charnleyand hip replacements, beginnings of the NHS. Reproductive medicine with Marie Stopes, Patrick Steptoe and test-tube babies.

Full Day: Liverpool & Chester | £19 (based on 36) | 7hrs

Enjoy the regenerated dock buildings of Liverpool, sing-a-long to the Beatles and admire the Roman walls at Chester or saunter and shop amongst it’s black and white buildings.
